The general objective of the international research network Diversity and Biotechnology of Marine Algae is to promote and strengthen synergistic interactions between phycologists (i.e. algal biologists) in France, Chile and Brazil.
The specific objectives of the network are:
1) to better understand the ecosystem services provided by marine algae and the resilience of these services in the face of climate change and other anthropogenic effects.
2) to develop tools and resources for the sustainable biotechnological exploitation of marine algae.
